In 1972, the opportunity of her career came in the form of M*A*S*H. This extremely popular TV show tracked lives of group of field surgeons and nurses during Korean War. Swit used to be married to Dennis Holahan but they got divorced in 1995. She also played in couple of movies, such as Race with the Devil and Dreams of Gold: The Mel Fisher Story.
She was married to Dennis Holahan from 1983 to 1995.
